The Red Shoe 5k is VIRTUAL! To prioritize the health and safety of our participants, staff, and community – the 10th Annual Red Shoe 5k will be completely virtual. The 5k will take place from Sunday, October 4th, 2020 to Sunday, October 11th, 2020. Raise your feet to raise hope for families by completing a 5k wherever you are, at your convenience! Prizes will be mailed for most fundraised by an individual and team, largest team, top male and female in each age group, and more! Register, create a fundraising page, or sponsor, today. Your team can be bigger than ever with a virtual race. Friends and family in other cities, states - or even out of the country! - can join you and help make a difference for families facing serious childhood illness. COVID-19 has changed the way people interact with each other and has created a lot of insecurity. For families of children already facing serious illness, it is an additional burden. Families in our community still need of access to specialized treatment for their sick kids and a place to call “home” where they can stay nearby during that treatment. You can help by registering for the Red Shoe 5k VIRTUAL Run & Walk. Your support will keep families with sick kids close to critical care and resources, when they need it most. Celebrating 10 years of the Red Shoe 5k: Originally called “Kaps for Kids,” more than 20 years ago this event began as a walk hosted by an alumni family. Then, 10 years ago, a running component was added and the Red Shoe 5k became our signature event. It has continued to grow ever since! While this year may look different, the purpose is the same - to give our community a way to come together (virtually), show support for, and make a positive impact on the families served by RMHCDC. Date: Sunday, October 4th, 2020 - Sunday, October 11th, 2020 Packets: All 5k registrants will receive a t-shirt in the mail. All Kid's Fun Run registrants will receive medals in the mail. Register by September 20th to receive yours in time for the 5k. Anyone registering after September 20th amy not receive their t-shirt and/or medal before the 5k. When more than one attendee is registered at the same time, all attendee packets will be mailed to the Primary Attendee, unless you contact Hillary Hughes at HHughes@rmhcdc.org. 2020 Registration Pricing: No refunds, all registrations are final. $25 Kid’s Fun Run (8 and under) *Discounts: Register as a team of 10 or more and save 15%.
